MISSOULA- A Missoula woman who was reported swerving all over U.S. Highway 93 earlier this week allegedly said she was just trying to make sure people obeyed the speed limit.

Mary Birch is charged with criminal mischief, reckless driving and obstructing a peace officer.

Prosecutors say that dispatchers received several calls about a woman swerving in the southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 93 North and varying her speed to keep people from passing on Wednesday afternoon.

Birch is also accused of throwing something out of her window at another car and cracking their window.

Prosecutors say Birch told troopers she was swerving in the lanes on purpose to get other cars to slow down.

The judge set her bail at $10,000, ordered her to get an evaluation from the Providence Center and told her that she can't drive.
