MISSOULA -Ten years ago, Brandon Hatfield, 29, thought his zodiac sign was important enough, to get it tattooed on his calf.

"I'm a Sagittarius," Hatfield said. "Apparently not anymore though."

This week he learned a new chart is putting him in a completely new category: Orphiuchus.

A Minnesota astronomy professor said the 12-symbol chart is missing the 13th constellation, Orphiuchus. He released new zodiac dates that change the zodiac sign for more than 300 birthdays out of the year, leaving horoscope followers like Patricia Davenport confused.

"A Sagittarius?" Davenport said with a gasp. "It kind of is surprising after 47years, knowing this and I'm disturbed but yet adventurous, ready to figure out what they're gonna say next.

Meanwhile Jordan Sanner has always been a Virgo. But the new chart says she's a Leo.

"Being a Virgo, I'm like really, really clean, really nice, really caring and being a Leo would like be the opposite 'cause they're considered hotheads," Sanner said.

Self-proclaimed psychic healer Alice De Chelley said she does not rely on astrology for her work, but she's open to the calendar shift.

"You know, it makes sense because in our personalities, they are changing so fast," De Chelley said. "Things that I used to pride myself on as a personality are shifting."

Former Virgo Adam Bilawa just found out he could be a Leo.

"(Astrology) kind of defines your character when you're born, so I don't know after 32 years that would change just because the planets realign," Bilawa said. "But, who knows? Maybe I'll have a drastic character change - for the better, hopefully."

But many, like Davenport, still say, not so fast.

"I'm a Capricorn and I know that and I have characterized it all my life," she said.

As for Hatfield, his calf will always mark him as a Sagittarius. But he said, he has changed.

"I put a lot more thought into my tattoos now," he said.

Astrologers we spoke with say it's too early to say whether there is any validity to the new signs, though they're getting a lot of calls and emails this week.

The revised zodiac chart:

•Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16
•Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11
•Pisces: March 11-April 18
•Aries: April 18-Ma 13
•Taurus: May 13-June 21
•Gemini: June 21-July 20
•Cancer July 20-Aug. 10
•Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16
•Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30
•Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23
•Scorpio: Nov. 23-29
•Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17
•Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20
