KALISPELL- Racers from all over the northwestern U.S,. as well as from Canada, are in town this weekend for the shot at winning $15,000 in the Montana 200.
The bulk of the racers arrived at Raceway Park early for the event, and raceway staffers say that means a spike in local business, especially restaurants, hotels, and car rental companies in the Flathead.
The racetrack is open just 21 days out of the year and this event is said by far to bring in the most money to the track with Raceway Park Manager Marie AuClaire saying that impact extends far beyond the racetrack.
"We've had people staying the Valley since last week, preparing for this event. These families are renting homes, hotels, going to Glacier Park. They spend their vacations here because of this event," he told us.
