Montanore Mine is one step closer to operation

LIBBY- The Libby County Montanore Mine committee is making progress in the permitting process.
The U.S. Forest Service issued a notice of intent for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement, which means the draft is close to being ready for public comment.
The Forest Service will then take those comments and apply them to the final Environmental Impact Statement. Once that occurs, the USFS will issue a record of decision which will approve or deny the Montanore Mine opening for operation.
A meeting will be held in Libby for public comment on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement on July 30th.
