KALISPELL - The number of flu cases reported in the Flathead is still on the rise.
Officials say 56 new cases were reported last week, and the Flathead County Health Department expects another 10 cases will be reported early next week by Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
That puts the total number of confirmed cases this season to about 215, which is higher than most other counties in Montana.
Health officials stress the best way to avoid the flu is by getting vaccinated, and shots are still available across Northwest Montana.
