KALISPELL- The recent medical marijuana raids by federal and state law enforcement have left members of the cannabis industry wondering why they weren't informed about certain guidelines they were supposed to follow in order to prevent the raids.

The Montana Cannabis Industry Association (MTCIA), found out Sunday night about the federal medical marijuana guidelines that were issued to four U.S. Attorney's in California.

Montana cannabis supporters are wondering why the same memo wasn't released in Montana by the Montana U.S. Attorney General since it is a federal document.

"If the federal government wants to propose guidelines fine, we're all for that, we would really enjoy that, we would invite the help but basically we would just like to know what our U.S. Attorney get. What did Cotter get? I mean we don't know if he got a similar memo," MTCIA spokesman Ed Docter said.

The group plans to write a letter to Governor Brain Schweitzer to get some clarification on
the memo and what the industry in Montana needs to do to prevent more raids.
