MISSOULA - Over the last nine months, Montana Caregivers Network has helped educate and screen 15,000 Montanans who are applying for medical marijuana cards.

MCN hosted a clinic Wednesday in Missoula to help those suffering from chronic pain. The director of Montana Caregivers Network told us this is the last stop on their seven day clinic event. MCN helps facilitate meetings between doctors, patients, and caregivers in Montana.

"I think it's really important that people here in Missoula and the surrounding area are able to come to a place where they can pick the care giver they want, be able to see a doctor within an hour and a half, and learn everything they need to know about medical marijuana," explained MCN Director and Founder Jason Christ.

He added they see about 1,000 people at these clinics who want to be screened for their medical marijuana cards. He says out of that group they are able to weed out 5% to 10% of people who don't actually need the cards.
