EVARO - The Missoula County Sheriff's Department has released the name of the 21-year-old woman who was killed in Sunday afternoon's crash on U.S. Highway 93 North.
Sheriff's Office spokesman Jason Johnson says that Joscelyn Lea Cook, died when the pickup truck she was riding in was hit by another vehicle at around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
MHP investigators saying the a 21-year-old man from Arlee was driving a Toyota Tundra pickup truck when he crossed the center line, side-swiped a second truck, continued going the wrong way, hit a guard rail, and then struck the smaller Ford Ranger pickup truck head-on.
Trooper say Cook was killed even though she was wearing her seat belt. Three other people were taken to Saint Patrick Hospital in Missoula to be treated for the injuries they suffered in the accident.
MHP Trooper Phillip Smart says the preliminary investigation doesn't suggest alcohol or speed were involved in the crash, but the wreck is still under investigation.
