MISSOULA - There's a new place where locals can gather to grab a cup of coffee.

The Hunter Bay Coffee shop opened last week on the first floor of the First Interstate Bank in downtown Missoula.

Lolo-based Hunter Bay has been a long-time roaster and distributor of coffee, but this is the first retail store for the owners. The coffee bar is not only serving up cups of Joe, but also has a lunch-time sandwich menu available.

"We want to stay true to our roots and serve great coffee and educate the public on how to brew the perfect cup, the right equipment to use, the perfect way to grind the coffee, what kind of water to use, what temperature it should be," explained Hunter Bay Coffee owner Amy Kreutz.

She added that they also plan to host cuppings, which are like wine tastings for coffee, in order to provide customers with a complete java education.
