MISSOULA - A recently closed diner is getting new life: It's going from Del's to donuts.
Bridge Pizza owners Dmitri Murfin and Erin McEwen are opening up Treasure State Donuts, which will offer housemade, traditional and gourmet donuts, as well as espresso and coffee.
General manager and head baker Stephanie Lubrecht said the shop is excited to be in the old Dels Place, which closed in summer 2012 after 26 years of business, and Treasure State Donuts will keep the classic diner look and feature specialties like bacon apple fritters, huckleberry donuts and a Flathead cherry cream filling.
"I think providing people with a lot of different choices and a lot of varying choices from day to day, week to week, season to season," Lubrecht said. "I think that's really important and that's what will keep people wanting to come in. See what we have new everyday. We definitely plan on having a very dynamic menu."
Treasure State Donuts plan a soft opening for sometime in March.
