BILLINGS- A woman who is wanted in New Mexico for sexually assaulting a child was arrested in downtown Billings earlier this week.

Shanon Shoulderblade, 38, is wanted in New Mexico State District Court in Bernanillo County on a 16-count felony warrant, charging her with abuse of a child, criminal sexual penetration of a child under the age of 13 and criminal sexual contact with a child under age 13, according to the U.S. Marshals Office.

Shoulderblade was arrested by members of the Montana Violent Offenders Task Force Monday evening.

Task Force Officers received a request from the U.S. Marshals' Southwest Investigative Fugitive Team to apprehend Shoulderblade, who was believed to be residing in the Billings area. Officers determined that Shoulderblade was homeless and possibly residing at a local social services agency or living on the streets.

Based on that information, officers were able to locate and arrest Shoulderblade on a street in downtown Billings.

Shoulderblade is being held in the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on a $30,000 cash bond and is awaiting extradition back to New Mexico.
