Alexis Wineman, of Cut Bank, was crowned as the new Miss Montana during the pageant held in Glendive over the weekend.

Wineman's platform is autism awareness. She's struggled with autism since the seventh grade and wants to work with Montana's youth.

"I'm a little shocked. I didn't think that would happen. This is my first year doing it, so it's just an incredible feeling. Being Miss Montana is a job, it's just amazing being able to represent this state and I plan on doing this to the best of my abilities," Wineman said.

Moira Shea of Helena was crowned Miss Montana's Outstanding Teen on Friday night.

The first runner-up in the Outstanding Teen contest is Shelbi Fitzpatrick of Cut Bank, and the second runner-up is Kara Mantooth of Lewistown.
