MISSOULA- Montana Republicans are hoping a political big hitter will give them added momentum in the race for governor.

New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie will be in Missoula next Friday to speak on behalf of candidate Rick Hill. The event is a fundraiser for Hill's campaign, and will take place in Missoula on August 10th at 1:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Hill's Campaign Manager, Brock Lowrance, tells us the visit from Governor Christie is a boost for the GOP.

"Governor Chris Christie is coming because Rick Hill is one of the most exciting candidates in the Republican party today, and leaders like Governor Christie recognize that candidates like Rick Hill are committed to the ideals of less government, lower taxes and creating more jobs," Lowrance said.
