Officials searching for missing Montana plane

GREAT FALLS - Authorities are searching for a private plane that was reported missing on Saturday after taking off a rural airstrip near Wolf Point.

The Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office has identified the pilot as Darin Ray Brown. Officials say Brown left the rural air strip at 10:30 a.m., and was heading to Yellowstone County.

He was reportedly last heard from between 10:45 and 11 a.m. when he talked to his wife in Acton while flying over Wolf Point.

An air search started just before 3 p.m. on Saturday, and officials are asking residents in the area of his flight plan to check their property.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Roosevelt County Sheriff's Office at (406) 653.6240, so they can track Brown's flight.
