CORVALLIS- Corvallis Primary School fourth grade teacher Patti Healy teaches almost the entire class from a smart board and thanks to this week's One Class at a Time Grant a new piece of technology will compliment the board and allow everyone to be mobile.
The grant from Allegiance Benefit Plan Management and Montana's News Station will help purchase a slate to go along with the smart board. It's about the size of a piece of a paper and will interact directly with the board at the head of the classroom.
Not only will Healy be able to teach from any place in the room now, but her students will also enjoy the convenience and efficiency the new device will provide.
"It gives them the opportunity to interact with the smart board, more than if they have to get up and push in their chair and walk to the front and do their thing and come back to their chair. So, it's easier to have the board come to them," Healy explained.
