One Class at a Time: Hawthorne Elementary School

MISSOULA - Hawthorne Elementary School second grade teacher Rhonda Krause received a surprise Tuesday morning.

Krause received this week's One Class at a Time Grant from Allegiance Benefit Plan Management and KPAX.

Allegiance Vice President of Marketing and Services Aaron Bay and KPAX General Manager Bob Hermes were on hand to award the $250 check.

The grant will go toward purchasing a lighting system for students to grow plants indoors year-round as the students study the plant's life cycle.

"It's just wonderful in this day and age of decreasing budgets. And having to re-prioritize - the student's needs don't change. When we use money such as this to incorporate multi-subject areas over time - and for it to be used in years to come for the classes...it just means the world," Krause explained.
