MISSOULA- There's nothing like learning something new from someone your own age and in Megan Hopper's second grade class at Target Range School students are helping each other learn to read better.
Montana's News Station General Manager Bob Hermes and CEO of Allegiance Benefit Plan Management Dirk Visser presented Hopper with the $250 check that will allow her to buy over 100 books for more than 60 second grade students to read from.
Hopper says the literature circles encourage the kids to help each other and that improves their reading.
"They get to have discussions about what exactly they are beginning to understand when it comes to reading, and it gives them a deeper understanding of what's going on in the story when they can talk about it with someone who is on the same level as them," she explained.
