MISSOULA- An ice cream booth at the fair has dampened spirits today after employees say someone stole all of the day's earnings right out of the booth on Thursday night.

Baskin-Robbins estimates their bank bag had more than $2,500 in it with the lone attendant saying someone unplugged the booth's power cord as a diversion, and while he was outside the booth plugging it back in, the thief went in the open door and snatched the bank bag.

Some of the money belonged to the fair and the non-profit A Carousel for Missoula, said Baskin-Robbins co-owner Beverly Loomis.

"Everyone affiliated with this yesterday, including volunteers from the carousel, worked really hard in really hot weather all day and last night and then somebody thought that that money belonged to them," Loomis said.

Police are looking for two men in their early-to-mid 20s who they consider possible suspects. One suspect is described as a scraggly, white man, 5'10" and 160 pounds. He has tan skin, dark hair and was wearing a red t-shirt with some sort of a logo. The other suspect is described as a black man 5'10", 180 pounds, and he was wearing a light-colored t-shirt.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Missoula Police or Crimestoppers at (406) 721.4444.
