GREENOUGH - Paws Up Ranch was brimming with dogs over the weekend as part of the second annual Canine Classic and this year, twice as much money was raised for the Humane Society of Western Montana.
The posh resort in Greenough opened their doors and also their hearts to host the clinic. Dogs and their owners ran or hiked all in an effort to help raise money for animals across Western Montana.
The Director of the Humane Society, Lora O'Connor, says they were able to raise over $12,000 at Sundays event and the money will go towards taking care of the animals in the shelter and will also help fund some of their programs like "low cost dog training" and the "behavior help line."
O'Connor says it was the generosity of Paws Up that helped them raise so much money. We couldn't have done it without Paws Up, they've just been so generous to us and mother nature was also very generous to us too."
During the Jocko Lake Fire, Paws Up also housed displaced animals for a period of time.
