MISSOULA - Authorities say that an Thursday evening assault on Reserve Street that sent one man to the hospital was sparked by an argument over food.
Missoula County Sheriff Detective Lieutenant Scott Newell says two transient men were arguing over a pork chop when one of the men assaulted the other - reportedly by using a long board.
The man who was assaulted was taken to the hospital with a head injury, and his condition is not known at this time. Det. Newell told us the suspect in the assault is now behind bars at the Missoula jail.
