CHENEY, WA - Only one Big Sky team swept the season series against the Lady Griz this year, and they happen to meet up again in the conference semifinals. Montana was trying to beat Portland State for the first time in three tries, and also earn a spot in tomorrow's championship game.

But it turned into a frustrating day for Robin Selvig's team in Cheney, Washington. Five minutes into the second half, Kelly Marchant took the pass on the break, and passed back to Eryn Jones for the short jumper. The Vikings were up 42-33. Alyssa Smith tried to bring the Lady Griz back, drilling a three to cut the lead to eight. Then Lauren Beck cut to the basket for two. She led Montana with 13 points in the game.

The closest this game got was six points with 10 minutes left, and then Kelli Valentine hits a jumper. Portland State pulled away at the end, and the Vikings beat the Lady 62-47. Montana finished the season with a 15-14 record.
