EUREKA - There are luckily no injuries to report after a propane delivery truck with a trailer hauling 400 propane tanks caught on fire in Lincoln County.
The incident happened at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday on Montana Highway 37 at the Koocanusa Bridge, about 12 miles south of Eureka.
Authorities say that one of the truck's tires blew out and a fire then started in the inner wheel of the trailer.
Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Neil Durham says the driver was able to stop the vehicle and then tried using fire extinguishers to put the fire out. But the blaze quickly spread to the trailer.
The driver then disconnected the truck from that trailer, called for help and kept passing traffic away from the scene.
Several burning propane tanks went into the nearby wooded area and created small fires that crews from the U.S. Forest Service were able to quickly put out.
The road was closed for about 45 minutes because of the fire.
