KALISPELL- Another Montana county is looking to the Flathead for advice on expanding their DUI Task Force.

Flathead County was the first in Montana to launch the program when they put an alcohol enforcement team through the DUI Task Force years ago. Ravalli County officials now want to follow suit.

The northwest Montana program was created by the "Stop Underage Drinking in the Flathead" coalition as well as several law enforcement agencies, treatment facilities and the judicial branch.

Flathead officials traveled to Hamilton last week to educate Ravalli County on underage drinking prevention tactics.

"We have people with arrest powers from federal agencies to various police departments, the state. The concept of a multi-jurisdictional team is to just bring everybody together and work on enforcement in a cooperative fashion," Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry explained.

The Alcohol Enforcement Team is currently run by the Kalispell Police Department and the Montana Highway Patrol.
