RED LODGE - The countdown to opening day of ski season is on. Red Lodge Mountain will open up on November 23, when the first lift starts rolling at 8:30 a.m.
Although Mother Nature has been a little stingy with natural snowfall so far this season, Red Lodge Mountain Resort is looking forward to opening for the 2012-2013 season on Friday, November 23, due in large part to its expansive snowmaking system.
With a 12" - 24" base of snow on prepared runs, the resort will operate the Triple Chair, Willow Creek, Miami Beach, and Magic Carpet lifts on opening weekend, and will offer guests 1100 vertical feet of skiing and snowboarding on 7 runs, including, Easy Street, Turnpike, Lower Hancock, Auto Bahn, Miami Beach, Ladies Aid, and Show Off Alley.
As temperatures allow, snowmaking will continue on Lazy M in order to open the Grizzly Peak lift as soon as possible and offer top to bottom skiing, and additional terrain and lifts will open as natural snowfall arrives.
