STEVNSVILLE Liquid refreshment! For swimming, the Stevensville pool is the place to be when the temperatures are hot, and even when they're not.
Lifeguard Kelcey Mulkey says that neither temperature nor weather can predict the number of swimmers that will come each day.
"Some days we'll have one, the next we'll have 40 kids in the pool," Mulkey said. "No matter if it's sunny and warm or cloudy and cool - it's unpredictable."
The Stevensville pool has been open a month and will close for the summer on August 20th. They teach lessons, have lap swimming, water aerobics, adult only times and open swim.
They also have a section of the pool that is only two feet deep "for the little kids just learning about putting their face in the water," said Mulkey.
The pool temperature is usually 81-82 degrees, but occasionally gets up to 86 degrees and it's a lovely pool in an open park that has shade trees and kid climbing units.
