HELENA- The Helena Cathedral hosted renowned organist David Jonies in a free concert for the community. The cathedral organ has over 2300 pipes, with which Jonies will used hands and feet to play.
When he isn't traveling to play concerts, Jonies is the organist for the Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago.
"Nowadays the organ is not exactly an instrument that's too often featured in concert repertoire, even if they do organ, have organs, they do not necessarily feature it that often. So, I certainly hope to, you know, help the cause of organ music," he said.
Jonies began learning to play organ at the age of ten and said it took him just a few years to learn to play it well.
