MISSOULA - The Montana Army National Guard is ready to take the wraps off their new Missoula Armed Forces Reserve Center off of U.S. Highway 93 west of town.
The more than 70,000 square foot facility will house several Montana Army National Guard units as well as the Missoula U.S. Army Reserve and will feature a new maintenance facility
"The grand opening is a great opportunity for the general public to come and visit one of the newest additions to the Missoula community," explained Montana National Guard Public Affairs Officer Tim Crowe. "The public is invited and encouraged to attend." The event will be hosted by Montana Adjutant General, Brigadier General John Walsh.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Friday, October 1st from noon until 1 p.m. at 9283 Running West Road. The event will feature the official signing ceremony where the MTNG will take official possession of the building.
The facility will be open after the ceremony for the public to walk through and see the latest architectural design by a Montana company, and the use of greener and energy efficient materials and design.
