POLSON - A former Marine from Ronan is standing at home for those who are away for the holidays fighting for our freedom.
Sgt. Chuck Lewis stands at the intersection of U.S. Highway 93 North and Montana Highway 35 in Polson reminding people about our servicemen and women who are overseas this holiday season.
Lewis served in the Marine Corp in the 1970s, and did maintenance on CH-53 helicopters. Now his service involves raising money for wounded veterans.
On Friday, Lewis will be in Missoula's Southgate Mall for most of the day raising funds for those injured while fighting for our country.
Come March 31, Lewis will put on his Marine uniform and will start his walk across the country to raise money for the wounded veteran programs.
