MISSOULA, MT -- One of the biggest names in politics is coming to Missoula, but she's not coming here for political reasons.

Sarah Palin will be here in September to raise funds for Teen Challenge, a faith-based organization that helps teenagers deal with life's problems by teaching them Christian values.

Palin is the former Alaska governor who unsuccessfully ran for the vice-presidency on the John McCain ticket and recently released the book "Going Rogue."

"This is huge, said Garden of Read'n owner Michael Burks, who is fronting the money to bring her here.  "We're really excited."

The event is called "Take a stand for God, Country and Family."  It's scheduled for Sunday, September 12th at the Hilton Garden Inn. Tickets go on sale later this week at the Garden of Readin' bookstore and Teen Challenge. Only 1,600 tickets are available and 200 of them are already sold.

"This is a Christian politician not afraid to stand up for what she believes in and just a huge amount of lack of God in this country, said Burks.  "And it will be awesome for someone to come in here who has such a huge following and present that to Missoula."

Ridiculous. How about people just use their brains to solve their own life problems. What a load of crap.

Regarding your comment: "Ridiculous. How about people just use their brains to solve their own life problems. What a load of crap."

You don't have to attend, though I agree with you that it is better to use your brain to solve life's problems than to depend on big government programs or entitlements.

This area has speakers on the other end of the spectrum all the time.  Its about time we have a speaker that believes in God and good christian values come to this area.  If you don't like her you don't go, period.  It just saddens me how ofter negative comments come up when anyone mentions God.  All of us on this side deserve and have the right to have gathering, speeches, or meetings as much as the other.  This will be a good, positive event for all that attend.

Wish this incompetent, unqualified, stupid woman would go back to her hole in Alaska and shut up. Her book reminds me of Mein Kampf. She lost and She quit her job before her term was up just to maintain her position on a stage in front of anyone that will listen. What does wearing a half a tube of lipstick and a short skirt have to do with God. It's about money and ego. McCain must have been on vodka and viagra when he chose her for a running mate.
