MISSOULA- There have been several sightings of Bella, the dog who went missing last weekend when her owners were involved in a fatal crash on Interstate 90 near Clinton.

Monica Best, who is an active part of the search effort says a dog trap has been placed near the crash site to try and lure in the black lab.

She is advising people to stay away from the trap and to not look for Bella on foot or ATV as previously done, because the dog is in distress and looking for her will push her further away from the trap.

Bella was in the car with the Seattle family when they were hit by a wrong way driver on Interstate 90. The Seattle family lost 8-year-old Jacob Gamble in that crash.

Monica says the dog belongs to Jacob's little brother who survived the crash, and getting Bella back home would give the family some comfort in their time of grieving.

"It's just so important right now that we try and get Bella back home to little Eli and the whole family out there. We really think it would help bring a little light back into their lives right now with everything that they've been through with the accident," she told us.

Monica says they are waiting for a package from the Gamble Family, that's filled with Bella's toys and plan to put them inside the trap to help and catch her. Monica asks if any local shelters have humane dog traps, to please contact her on their Facebook page, which you can access from the link below.
