SEELEY LAKE - A Seeley Lake family lost their home late Wednesday afternoon after it caught on fire.

It happened around 5 o'clock on Frontier Road in Seeley Lake.

A lookout spotted the fire and called it in as a wildlands fire, but the responding fire crews quickly discovered it was a home that fully engulfed in flames.

The family was in Missoula at the time the fire broke out.

The fire chief says when the firefighters arrived, people were pulling vehicles away from the burning home.

"It was a fully involved structure fire. Our biggest concern was outbuilding protection and the flames impingement on the propane tank," says Frank Maradeo, Seeley Lake Fire Chief.

The teenager who lives in the home says he's happy everyone is safe.

"It's just material things that were lost. I mean we've got a place to stay, we've got running water, we got all these things-really we're kind of sitting pretty good."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but if you would like to help the family, you can call the Seeley Lake fire hall at 406-677-2400.
