ANACONDA - The sentencing date has been rescheduled for a Butte man who pleaded guilty to felony charges stemming from a high-speed crash near Anaconda that killed a Missoula prosecutor.

David Bugni, 26, was slated to be sentenced on Thursday, but according to the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Attorney's Office, the sentencing will now take place on Friday, September 17th. The change was requested by Bugni's attorney.

Bugni has admitted to driving at a high rate of speed on Interstate 90 on Sept. 25, 2009 when he collided with a vehicle driven by Judy Wang, 57, of Missoula. Wang was killed in the crash.

Blood samples taken from Bugni after the crash tested positive for alcohol and marijuana but with a blood alcohol level below the legal limit.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors recommend that Bugni be sentenced to 20 years in the Montana State Prison with 10 years suspended for negligent homicide and 10 years with five years suspended for criminal endangerment with the sentences to run concurrently.
