MISSOULA- A small earthquake hit outside of Seeley Lake early on Monday morning. The U.S. Geological Survey reports the 1.3 temblor hit just after midnight about 24 miles northeast of Seeley Lake and 24 miles north, northeast of Orvando.

Most folks probably didn't even notice the small quake which the U.S.G.S. reports was relatively shallow. There are no reports of any damage in what's just the latest shaker to hit western Montana in the last few weeks.

A 3.2 magnitude earthquake hit near Clinton on January 20th, a quake hit the Dixon area on December 30th and a 3.5 magnitude quake hit 14 miles southeast of Clinton on December 14th. That event came on the heels of a 3.3 quake that hit on November 11th, again near Clinton.
