Snow coats mountains, passes in Western MT

HAMILTON- The change in Western Montana's weather has brought the first significant snow in the hills and mountains of Ravalli County.

Wednesday morning the white stuff could be seen in the Bitterroot from St. Mary's Peak south to the Idaho border. Most of the snow is at the 4,000 foot level or above.

The Montana Department of Transportation reported early Wednesday morning that Lost Trail Pass on U.S. Highway 93 and Chief Joseph Pass on Montana Highway 43 had a light snow covering.
