HELENA- Montana state officials will now start tracking education data from kindergarten through college thanks to a $3.4 million grant.
Office of Public Instruction Superintendent Denise Juneau said the grant will help link grade school and post-secondary education, which previously hadn't been possible for the state.
Juneau said the information will show whether students are successfully prepared for college.
OPI is developing a web site for collecting data, and is expected to go online with the new information by June 2015.
