Students find handgun on Butte school playground

BUTTE- Students found a handgun on the playground of Kennedy Elementary School in Butte Friday afternoon.
Butte Silver Bow Sheriff John Walsh said a .22 caliber revolver was found in the snow on the playground around 2 p. m.
Walsh said the gun contained no bullets and the barrel was missing and he does not believe it is related to an issue or threat at the school, but officers are still following up on the incident.
