Students to see changes at Libby schools

LIBBY- Schools open in Libby next week and students will be experiencing some changes this year after Asa Wood Elementary School closed down.

Libby Elementary School, which was formerly Libby Middle School, will now house grades K though six and the high school will house grades seven through 12.

Libby Schools Superintendent Kirby Maki says the district is on schedule with its construction at both schools and added that they'll be ready in time for the first day of school next Tuesday.

A lot of adjustments were made to the middle school, including expanding and renovating part of the building, and even lowering lockers and water fountains to accommodate the smaller grades.

Each grade will be assigned to a separate pod with the Kindergarten pod located closest to the front office.
