WHITEFISH - Fall is officially here, and this week, residents got to catch a glimpse of the new season on the side of a local building.

Stumptown Art Studio unveiled its fall mosaic-which is the first of four that will be displayed alongside Highway 93 in downtown Whitefish.

The two-year project, called Windows on Whitefish, has been both funded and created by local community members.

The public is encouraged to help piece together the final three murals, and organizers say the project is offering people a chance to be part of something very special.

Susan Fletcher, the Windows on Whitefish Fundraiser chair, said fused glass and metal are some of the materials in the project.

"But what we're so excited about is that we're asking families and merchants and people that have been a part of Whitefish for a long time to contribute their artifacts," she said.
