HELENA - The hot, dry weather has Montanans searching for a way to beat the heat, which means good business for areas surrounding our lakes.
Canyon Ferry Lake reports a steady stream of visitors seeking reprieve throughout the season.
Kim's Marina features a campground, restaurant, general store and boat rentals, making it a one-stop shop for those wanting to be lakeside.
Owner Greg Axtman says that they have seen steady business with little interruption.
Axtman said, "The weather's been great. Ever since the sun came out, the boats started coming out. There was a little scare in the Helena area with the fires and everybody's playing it pretty safe and so it's been a good season and we've had a lot of fun on the water."
Kim's Marina opened for the season in April and won't close until October.
Axtman says because of the central location of the lake, people from all over Montana come to visit.
