GREAT FALLS - A Simms man has been arrested in connection with vandalism at the Highland Cemetery in Great Falls in 2011.
The Cascade County Sheriff's Office says that information obtained with the assistance of the Montana DNA Identification Index provided them with information about Ryan Jeffery Wood.
The Sept. 2011 incident resulted in 221 headstones at the cemetery being pushed over and/or damaged, and caused more than $1,500 in damage.
Wood is charged with felony desecration of a cemetery.
This isn't the first time this cemetery has been vandalized. The September vandalism followed a similar incident in May 2011, when more than 100 gravestones were overturned, some damaged beyond repair.
