Jeremy Mata, 34, faces a deliberate homicide charge for the death of Bob Bajzer and is being held in Skagit County jail on a $250,000 bond. His arraignment is set for February 16th.
Mata also faces three outstanding misdemeanor warrants in Washington. DNA evidence linked Mata to the homicide according to Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff John Walsh.
The arrest came nearly one year after Bajzer's murder. Bajzer was killed Feb. 13, 2011 on Park Street in Butte.
Bajzer was stabbed to death and a large kitchen butcher-type knife was recovered by officers on Feb. 16, 2011 in the alley behind Terminal Food Center on West Park Street close to where the stabbing took place.
Bajzer was found dead by a passing motorist on West Park Street just after midnight Sunday, February 13, 2011. Bajzer had just left the nearby Eagles Lodge shortly before the stabbing.
