MISSOULA - Two teenagers who said they wanted to make an 18th birthday memorable were charged with felony burglary, after they broke into a Missoula furniture store.
Thursday night, Missoula police responded to a burglar alarm at Furniture Row on North Reserve Street, where officers arrested Matthew Merritt after they saw him walking through the store with two pillows.
They also arrested his friend William Bears, who was trying to leave unnoticed.
Police found items in the store knocked over, bedding askew and other items out of packaging.
Prosecutors say Bears told investigators they broke into the store because they were looking for something to make Merritt's 18th birthday memorable.
Both teens were released on special court conditions.
