BONNERS FERRY, ID- A 21-year old Thompson Falls man will have to be on his best behavior in a North Idaho jail the next few months if he hopes to avoid major prison time for causing a drunk driving accident.

Logan Brent Moore got into trouble for the accident near Bonner's Ferry last May. Prosecutors say Moore admitted driving drunk when his truck crashed into a car headed for the Mother's Day Moyie Mud Bog, seriously injuring three women. He was also charged with fleeing the scene of the accident.

Moore faced a nine year prison sentence this past week, but the Bonners Ferry Herald reports that the judge handling the case gave Moore a chance to prove himself at the Cottonwood Correctional Center for the next six months. The judge said if Moore behaves himself he could come back to the court and request parole, avoiding the full prison sentence.

Moore has already been in custody for more than 200-days since the accident and was given credit for serving that time.
