MISSOULA- A homeless man was found dead Thursday morning near the Mountain Line bus transfer station on Pine Street.

Missoula Police detectives say the 59-year-old victim's friend found him unconscious on the sidewalk and the man was taken to the hospital where medical personnel pronounced him dead.

Police say they know who the victim is because he had previous run-ins with law enforcement. The cause of death is still under investigation, but investigators don't believe foul play was involved.

The man's name is not being released at this time.
