MISSOULA- A Missoula transient sat behind bars Sunday after allegedly threatening another person with a gun.
Missoula Police Sergeant Jerry Odlin said officers were called to a report of a physical disturbance in the 100 block of West Broadway Street just before 2:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Odlin said the 33-year-old man had gotten into a fight with another man and pulled out a handgun.
Bystanders wrestled Joel Brooks Thornton to the ground and were able to take the gun away from him without anyone being injured.
Odlin said officers arrived shortly afterward and arrested Thornton without incident.
Thornton faces charges of Felony Assault with a Weapon, Felony Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Convicted Person, and Misdemeanor Carrying Concealed Weapon While Under the Influence.
