Tuesday a good day for Missoula schools

MISSOULA - It was a pretty good day for the Missoula County Public School District on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau presented Dr. Alex Apostle with the Trailblazer Award in Helena - in recognition of the district's Graduation Matters program.

Graduation rates for Montana's AA schools were also announced - and Missoula topped the list.

"Are where we want to be? Absolutely not. Our goal is 100% or as close as we can get, we are not close enough yet," Apostle said.

"We are 88.3% over the last three years, that's good enough to be the best among AA school districts, but quite frankly I know that our staff is not satisfied with that, and with our community support, we can increase that," he added.
