LOLO- A security system stopped some burglars in their tracks after an early Tuesday morning attempted robbery at a Lolo pharmacy. Missoula County Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Jason Johnson says this is one of more than a dozen times the Lolo Drug Store has experienced an attempted robbery.
BONNER- The logs are piling up at the old Stimson mill site and the new operators are about ready to start chipping and then shipping the wood for use in an eastern Washington mill. The new operations started at the Bonner mill site in December and are aimed at meeting Boise Inc.'s objectives to find new sources of wood chips.
MISSOULA- A small Missoula firm specializing in the emerging field of global data security has closed on a major funding deal that gives the company more than $1.5 million in seed funding for its next stage of growth. TerraEchos started two years ago, specializing in ways to analyze data streams for military and business applications and protect them from cyber attacks.
HAMILTON- Both incumbents are in, and now one challenger has emerged in the upcoming races for Ravalli County commissioner. Two members of the five member commission are up for election this year with both Republican incumbents J.R. Iman and Greg Chilcott filing for re-election as soon as the filing period re-opened.
GREAT FALLS- A pair of Pablo men are being charged with dealing in eagle parts by federal prosecutors. The U.S. Attorneys Office has filed changes of violating the Bald and Golden Eagle Act and the Migratory Bird Act against Glenn Reum, 57, and Curtis Foster, 58, of Pablo, and 64-year old Doug Standing Rock of Box Elder.
KALISPELL- A Flathead Valley man has pleaded guilty in helping his friend rob a Lucky Lil's Casino in Kalispell back in December. Kyser Nelson, 19, is being charged with a Felony of Accountability to Robbery after allegedly helped his friend Jesus Din rob the casino on December 1st by driving the getaway car.
The University of North Dakota may get kicked out of the Big Sky Conference before ever playing a game with UND officials maintaining that will happen if the school overturns plans to retire the Fighting Sioux mascot.
From the StormTracker Weather Center: Winds will die down during the morning hours and should remain calm through the afternoon. And with mostly sunny skies shining down on us, we'll be able to warm into the mid to upper 30s. Our temperatures for the next couple of days will remain in the low 30s in the Flathead all the way to the upper 30s in the Bitterroot which is pretty close to the norm this time of year.
