Mark Saint Storm Heavy Runner pleaded guilty to first and second degree murder, and will receive more than 17 years in prison and 5 years of supervised release. Thomas Charles Marc Heavy Runner pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact, and was sentenced to more than 6 years in prison.
Marie Heavy Runner's body was found in a crawl space below a Browning home in November, and neighbors said they hadn't seen her since June.
During an FBI interview, Mark Heavy Runner admitted to murdering Marie, his adoptive mother. He told authorities they had gotten into an argument on July 1, and said he strangled her with a rope and held her head in a bathtub full of water.
Mark Heavy Runner's son, Thomas, helped wrap the body in blankets and hide it under the house.
