MISSOULA - The University of Montana's College of Technology officially has a new name, and is now known as Missoula College University of Montana.
The two-year college celebrated its new name, as well as an expanded program, during a ceremony Wednesday afternoon.
Missoula Mayor John Engen and UM President Royce Engstrom were two of the speakers at the event.
Engstrom says the new name will better represent the school in the Montana university system.
"Missoula College University of Montana signals a new sense of integration into the University," President Engstrom said. "A mature view of the multiple roles of the college that John outlined and its centrality to our community."
School officials are still working on plans to expand or move Missoula College.
