MISSOULA- The past six months have been a media nightmare for the University of Montana as the school deals with an onslaught of questions concerning sexual assaults investigations.
UM is seeking help to better communicate with the press and the public. The university has hired nationally known media expert Teresa Valerio Parrot to train adminstrators in how to handle difficult issues.
Parrot's $10,000 contract is for training this year, which includes advice on how to staff UM's public and media relations office, but will not include fundraising advice.
Board of Regents spokesman Kevin McRae told us Parrot has met once with President Royce Engstrom's leadership team so far.
President Engstrom's first high profile public appearance since the training will be on Friday, when he gives his State of the University address.
